Dawfolio is built to collect as little data as possible: your project library stays on your Mac, and there are no analytics or tracking tools. This page explains in detail what data is still processed when you use the app and this website.

Your project data stays local
Dawfolio is a macOS app that browses and organizes your DAW projects. All project information (file paths, metadata such as BPM, key and track names, tags, collections and notes) is stored exclusively on your Mac in a local SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to us or any third party.
License activation
When you purchase and activate Dawfolio, your license key is sent to our server (dawfol.io) for verification and forwarded from there to our payment and licensing provider, Lemon Squeezy. A randomly generated device name (not a personal identifier) is also transmitted to count activated devices. The purchase itself (payment details, billing address, email) is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy as an independent controller; we only receive the license status from them, never payment data. For studio Macs without internet access, an offline activation flow is also available, where the generated activation code is transferred manually.
Purchasing via the App Store
Dawfolio can also be purchased through the Mac App Store. In that case, Apple handles the entire purchase; we never receive any payment or account data from it. For purchases made this way, Apple's own privacy policy also applies.
Automatic update checks
Dawfolio periodically checks whether a new version is available by contacting our server. As with any website request, our hosting provider briefly processes standard technical connection data (such as IP address and request time) in server logs.
No analytics or tracking tools
Dawfolio contains no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting software of any kind. Your usage behavior is never recorded.

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically processes standard technical connection data (such as IP address, date and time of the request, page requested and browser used) in server log files to keep the website running. This website does not set tracking or marketing cookies and does not embed any third-party analytics services.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as a right to data portability and objection. Since the app stores your project data exclusively on your own device, you remain in full control of it at all times.
